Spooked by Socialized Medicine, Seduced by Technology: America's Delusional Path Toward Health Care Reform?

For over a decade, Michael Zis has been a student and teacher of health care politics and policy. After writing his Masters thesis on the politics of Medicare reform, Michael went on to work for two years as a health policy analyst for the Minnesota Department of Human Services before returning to academia to write a dissertation entitled, “In the Shadow of National Health Insurance: The Rise of America’s Health Care Supply State” – a work he is revising for publication. Since 2004, Michael Zis has taught classes on American politics and social policy at the University of Minnesota and Macalester College, where his signature class, Government and Medicine, is one of the college’s most popular courses.
